All - in - all it really wasn't all that bad. It's when they wheel you into the procedure room, flip off the blanket with your butt exposed and they start laughing

Better than if you are on your back and they start laughing when they remove the blanket. :D

Wouldn't be the first time!

The four times in the last year that I've had a heart cath. Even though they went in through my neck, the first thing they do is to flip off the blanket and shave my groin. Both sides! Next they slap a narrow led shield over my boys. I dare you to not be embarrassed ;), especially when the nurses are hot. Unfortunately, the room is kept at sub-arctic temperatures.

Ahh....Rectal Candid Camera ! An often baffling evacuation process, followed by a gratuitous photo session while napping on your side, does promote a great relief enhanced by the fact that you were smart enough to do it even though you really didn't want to ! You wouldn't believe it,but cancerous and pre-cancerous polyps removed very early in the game kinda promote more wake-ups for you, compared with folks who stick their head in the sand and ignore it. By the time you get some warning signs, you've got one hell of an opponent inside of you with a good head start ! Thanx for having the guts to post this, you may never know how many coal burners you may have encouraged to get this procedure performed........How do I know so much about this, why,I'm a complete A-whole !!((purposely abbreviated in pidgin English to pass censors)...... :flush:

You're absolutely correct on both accounts,Grumpy ! General Thought being the usual Human Being hates themselves for volunteering for this, but those polyps and abnormal cells put a gun to you're head to go and do it ! So,in the end(No pun intended),go get it done, and show your Fanny Canal who's Boss !

Not quite as graphic but humiliating just the same... I went in for a EKG and the nurse had a nice stainless wheeled table set with razor's and shave cream and asked me to remove my shirt... she took one look and said "Ohhh, guess we wont be needing this" and pushed the cart back :annoyed: ... not my fault I never got any chest hair :taz:

Several years ago the wife of a friend died from some kind of lung ailment. But before she died she made my friend promise to get a colonoscopy.
He did and they found a cancerous polyp which they removed. His doctors put him on a strict regimen of treatment. Unfortunately, the cancer spread to the rest of his body.

But finding it when he did gave him a good ten years longer. Just think, if he had the procedure done a couple of years earlier, he could still be around.

A the prep before a colonoscopy may be a pain in the butt, but the procedure is easy, go into the room, they give you some 'happy juice' in the arm and the next thing you know is you are waking up in recovery feeling ok, hungry enough to almost want to eat liver and onions raw. But all is ok.

The resolution on the new generation of Olympus colonoscopy cameras is amazing. You can find some of those old cameras on Ebay, in fact prices have reached rock bottom. HAAHAHAHHAAHAHa, God, I am sooo funny.

Fred, the reason it still hurts when you pee is the fact that the forgetful SOB left the camera in there ! You haven't noticed that your pants 'aint been fitting right ? Once you get that damn thing out of 'ya,send it to newb's. He's marking 'em down and moving 'em out !! :o
