Several years ago the wife of a friend died from some kind of lung ailment. But before she died she made my friend promise to get a colonoscopy.
He did and they found a cancerous polyp which they removed. His doctors put him on a strict regimen of treatment. Unfortunately, the cancer spread to the rest of his body.
But finding it when he did gave him a good
ten years longer. Just think, if he had the procedure done a couple of years earlier, he could still be around.
A the prep before a colonoscopy may be a pain in the butt, but the procedure is easy, go into the room, they give you some 'happy juice' in the arm and the next thing you know is you are waking up in recovery feeling ok, hungry enough to almost want to eat liver and onions raw. But all is ok.
