My wife was cold so I fired up our Glenwood Number 8 Baseburner and it's now 78 degrees in the house. I'm looking forward to the cold Massachusetts winter. I should have gone to heating with coal 13 years ago. This 104 year old girl is beautiful and super efficient.

Excellent!! There is a small fire in mine as well right now. It is purring at around 200 degrees. Just enough for a cool evening.

The number 6 down stairs. It's going down in the upper 30's tonight here. It's funny going from Air Conditioning one day and then it's time for a little fire.

I have been running the heat and the A/C each day here for the last week, it's crazy. One or the other already..

The other day here in MA it was 98 degrees and tonight there is a frost warning. Crazy weather and people will be getting sick with the temperature swings.

I don't get how temp swings cause sickness (but I know your right), I wonder why that happens? Time to start taking your vitamins people!

I don't know how or why but my 6 year old son Connor and 3 year old daughter Emelia are sick already. Now that I think about it it's weird because when I was in Iraq for 2 years during the day it was 135 degrees and at night it would go down to the 40s (talk about daily temperature swings ) and I never got sick. I got shot at but did not get sick.

Yes U.S. Army, Active Duty. I just retired in January 2013 with over 21 years of service of which 2 years were served in Iraq. Thank you for your support.

I got the old girl cruising along at 400*F tonight. I saw some old paperwork/ads with Glenwood Base Heaters and noticed they had the lettering painted in silver. I found some silver high temp paint (good until 2000*F) and painted up the lettering on the stove. I think I like it.

Wow  , very nice and neat painting. How did you do that ? I mean what did you use for painting a so clean job ?
If possible for you, could you send some photos from these newspaper ad showing the painted Glen. Thanks.
