I haven't ever tried to re-feed the partially burned stuff, but from the reports I've heard it doesn't burn well the second time around, and it may even put out your fire, so it may not be worth the effort to try to send it through for a second pass, at least not in any appreciable quantities.

i agree mike, i tried running the stoker at more combustion fan less draft etcetc, when all the screwing around was done dust settled the unit set to spec draft measurements seems to have less fly ash and less coal waste found in the driveway, not to speak safer to have in the basement!
