started lump charcoal fire going good added maybe 10lb reading ant coal,bottom vents open about 1/2 way top vent closed
and pipe damper closed 45deg after 15min. loaded to about half full then set bottom vents to 1/4 open,put in base mode

barrel temp 375 pipe temp 125 all seems to be ok but never saw blue flames and smoked up mica windows.

is this normal to see yellow flames and to smoke up window?always had dancing ladies on cook stove same coal or am i doing something wrong here

oh yah i did pipe to chimney :lol:

What kind of fluid did you use to start the charcoal? When you start the fire you should open the secondary air damper in the door until the coal gets ignited. You should also open the primary dampers in the bottom door all the way as well. When the fire is established then you close off the dampers.

lighter fluid 1 shot glass full.will try that next time burning good now very controllable.just never saw any blue flames all yellow,could that just be junk coal.
