Well oh giver of the Forum
I must say I have been having some fun this weekend with all the features you have built into this thing, it is by far the most feature rich and easy to use not to mention pleasant board I visit, a real well done piece .

Wish I could take credit but most of what you see was created by the phpbb team. I'm only the janitor, the most I've done is to modify the look and a few minor modifications.

---------------

Just want to add, there's lots more to come. Now that it's gold version I can really start getting my hands dirty. :D

There is a VB converter available, won't cost you a dime to give it a try:

http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewforum.php?f=65

I haven't ever done a conversion but I'd imagine if you don't have a lot of VB mods that require DB queries it should be pretty much painless.

Most people don't like change, I'd imagine that's especially true with all the old farts here. You get used to it but I'd imagine if i did a poll asking just the people that initially didn't like it if I should switch back to old software the answer would be no. The user interface is quite an improvement from phpbb2 but the major changes are all behind the scenes, phpbb2 was lacking in many areas for administration. This on the other hand is like a Caddilac.

This forum is a great asset. I appreciate your investment, Richard.

I just set up a forum for a client. He's not a techie...I'm just waiting for the calls to start coming in.
