Im less than 15 minutes from Syracuse....and 'coyotes' in the 80 to 90 lb. range are NOT un commom...a good friend of mine does his share of trapping..and he claims that accorging to studies by Cornell....they are finding timberwolf DNA in them (or something to that affect)
Either way....they ARE gettin bigger. My uncle shot one about 30 years ago locally- it weighed 40 lbs or so-full grown.

Ive spooked more than one outta the yard in the last couple years alone....both after sun up...which bothers me a bit.
The ocassional black bear wanders this way every couple years too...obviously from the Adirondaks.
and cougars ?....well thats just a legend...lol
mother nature is adapting maybe...idk.

That is the average size here that I have shot 40-45#. The one I shot 2 yrs ago was probably 70-80#. Just thought it was a freak.
