Took a drive today to go check out a cylinder stove that I found was advertised on craigslist recently. Was pleasantly surprised to meet a wonderful older woman who is looking to let go of a beautiful old stove that has been in their home since 1947. I don't know much about it but after looking at it in person it appears to be a fine specimen that was well taken care of. All the pieces are there and it is still hooked up in the same position since 1947. The fire pot and grates appear to be in great shape. And the nickel is in very nice shape with only mild wear. The name on it reads #32 Premium Oak. Even though I don't know to much about it, I was very surprised to see how tight all the doors, latches, draft controls and pins were so I committed to a purchase. I hope I didn't make a mistake, I mean it looks like if you knew for sure the chimney and flue pipe were in good condition and clean, you could put a fire in it. If anyone knows anything more about this beautiful stove I would greatly appreciate any information on it. We plan on picking it up this week as I have to go back to work and won't be able to pick it up until my next days off. It must be disassembled some to remove it from where it is so any input on that would also be of great value.
