Do you have any idea how much they cost? I have a Weber Smokey Mountain which has a great website wsmvirtualbullet.com
The Green Egg should behave the same, but you can run higher temps and do wood fired pizza and more. A guy I work with has one and loves it. If you are new to smoking, you need to learn patience. But we already know you have that because you burn COAL

OMG, you were given one?!!! Those things are the rage down here. But only for the big money people. I have a lowly grill and can only dream of the egg. Read up on it, you will love it I think.

The real macoy or one of those knock offs?...If its only two of you and you have the kind of time necessary to learn it and deal with it maybe it can be good, I personally am not cooking pizza or Cornish game hens on my grill. There just not conducive to family cookouts at all (if this be the case with you than... Ebay Baby! toothy (then go buy a bad azz propane grill)

If you think the chicken turned out good, try some ribs and a boston butt.

Man are you lucky! I seriously want one of those, but the cost is prohibitive. I've looked at BGE's, Kamado Joe's, and Grill Dome's so far. All of the various "Kamado" style cookers are very similar, right down to the high cost. You did good!

This style of cooker makes amazing chicken. I cooked this chicken for six hours at 235 and each thigh measured hundred and 75° or more. I gave the leftover chicken halves to a friend and when they went to eat them the next day, it was so juicy pink inside they argued with me that it was undercooked. They were so used to eating dried out overcooked chicken that they overcooked this too - what a shame!
