A thought on MA gun laws ...

PostBy: SMITTY On: Wed Oct 09, 2013 10:06 am

Guess this was posted on Facebook (I wouldn't know ... ) and had over 10k views:

Fact: Massachusetts has 4.6 million licensed drivers and approximately 300K licensed gun owners. Currently firearms licenses are taking many months and sometimes over a year to renew, yet the state is able to process hundreds of thousands of driver's license renewals every month in a timely fashion. GOAL has made numerous inquiries to the A.G.'s office, the I.G.s office, the Governor's office and the Executive Office of Public Safety asking for an investigation into why this is happening and to date none have bothered to reply or take action.

This is another example of the state's harassment of law abiding gun owners and needs to be fixed.

Share and demand repair!

Certainly food for thought! :gee:

There is 1 million licensed hunters in PA however that is no indication of gun ownership, the only thing you need a permit here for is concealed carry. Where I live gun ownership per household is probably about 90%. Gunshots are frequent however there is no one getting shot.

Think the hold up may be local Police Dept. Not sure, but I think permit approvals/renewals go through them, then the state. Nobody wants to hold the bag when a whack job does somebody. Truth of the matter is the whack job rarely, if ever, is a legal gun owner....no place like home

Yes, It is up to the police dept. Few of my friends complain that thier wives had no problems getting licenses, but they do. Either with restrictions or getting the tenth degree by the dept. If your on the officers bad side forget it. Then again it's liberal MA and unfortunately the rest of the country is slowly becoming like CA, NY, CT, MA, pretty much all of new england. I need to get my gun before the liberals completely take over NH. Matt

When I went for my concealed carry - I had no issues and it was received in a reasonable amount of time.
Based on what I've always read and heard about - I expected much worse.

Recently I also applied for and received my Utah Concealed Carry License. Not that I do much travelling - but having a licenses that is lawful in 30+ states is nice to have.

How strange is this !!! As I'm writing this and home with my 4yr old and baby - I hear wood falling in the basement. My son is sick and in the basement so I know it's not him. I can't recall whether I locked the outside sliding glass door or not - so I open my gun cabinet - grab by .380 - insert clip and go downstairs. Finger off the trigger in proper form.
All clear. Must have been wood my son piled up.

No - I don't do this every day. Last time I heard an odd noise that didn't sound right was probably >10 months ago.

Fact - I will protect life and property.

Sorry for the rant...I really did hear a noise and no I'm not paranoid - nor would I call the police for a noise. But it could have easily been something else - especially these days. One never know and "life" is unpredictable.
