Growing up in a city area we didn't do much shooting except at the city dump we would shoot rats at dusk. By 12 or 13 I already had learned to make my own zip gun, no great loss if you had to toss it. We did all have respect for what was others & I only knew one guy that shot his eye out (looking up to try to see the arrow he shot). Thinking back when people saw us kids walking with 22s they pretty much knew where we were heading & can't ever remember the cops being called, a good place & time to grow up, learned more off the street than anywhere else. ;)
Heck yea, I'll admit I'm jealous but how you gonna get the recliner up there unless you had it strapped in from the building stage. I don't even hunt & I wouldn't mind one like that.

Hunter safety classes are a joke but better then nothing. My brother was an instructor for years and had new stories to tell after each years sessions.

Just curious if anyone ever 'fails' a hunter safety course and either must re-take it or is denied a hunting license?! I remember they had them on Saturdays in the school a couple times a year back in the dark ages. I hunted as a teenager but haven't kept up with what the programs do these days.

Along the same theme, I always thought (especially after heading out of Walmart on my yearly run to stock up on oil & filters) that there should be a test that must be passed before people are allowed to have kids. Some of the folks reproducing these days are a true menace to society. I would even sign up to be the reproduction czar making that decision! If you fail twice ya get neutered!! ;)

Hunter safety courses are nice to get your child his/her license, but like others have said, they are just about useless. I learned far more just being in the woods and around guns with my dad then I ever learned from anyone else.

I am doing the same with my kids.
