Wild turkey Blind law in Pa

Blinds: The use of turkey blinds is legal under the following definition:
Any artificial or manufactured turkey blind consisting of all man-made
materials of sufficient density to block the detection of movement within
the blind from an observer outside the blind. Artificial or manufactured
turkey blinds consisting of all man-made materials means blinds must
be constructed of plastic, nylon, canvas, cotton cloth, plywood or other
man-made materials. Blinds made by piling rocks, logs, branches, etc.
are unlawful.
The blind must completely enclose the hunter on all four
sides and from above to block the detection of movement within the
blind. When fluorescent orange is required at a stationary calling location
in fall seasons, at least 100 square inches must be displayed outside the
blind and within 15 feet of the blind, visible 360 degrees

I don't want to BUY a blind, i want to use the natural vegetation of the habitat area. Talk about a stupid law.

I guess using the natural features of blown down trees, in or around a stone wall with overgrown vegetation isn't of my hands making, so i will have to find something in area that fills the bill.

To many complete idiots shooting at movement within a natural looking area. You must be within an enclosure to mask any movement to protect yourself from idiots. This is for your protection and is the next logical step in banning hunting at all because of unregulated idiots. The common denominator between the regulators and the people that might shoot you is "idiots".

I guess maybe a couple of pulsating orange strobe lights wouldn't alarm the turkeys, around here the field corn is still up so would that be considered man made since man planted it?

I enjoy turkey hunting more than deer anymore due to lack of people in the woods during turkey. I find my real tree blind works just fine but I rarely use it anymore. Turkey's are thick up here in Sullivan county pa.

Well then whats the purpose of a hunter safety course.... or better yet, common sense... if you can't identify the target don't shoot. Movement or no movement. Holy crap.. its a firearm. no a freaking water pistol or toy. Basics i learned long time ago... a firearm is alwasys loaded, even if its not. Don't point it at anyone or anything just playing around. carry firearm in front of you pointing ina safe direction, mostly towards ground a few feet in front of you, never carry on shoulder pointing behind you, fellow hunter behind might not like starring down your barrel wondering if safety is on or off. All goes back to common sense and knowing that guns kill, basically there sole purpose. Yes there are the dedicated target/range shooters... but that firearm can still kill if mishandled.

My father is getting up in age and I have had a hard time getting him out hunting the last few yrs especially if the weather is bad. So I have been building this.

I still need to add the windows, enclose the base and put the shingles on the roof. Oh yea build the ladder. But I did get it in place.

Sam, Sam, Sam. You still see the gun as the problem. How about we bring back the acceptance of firearms and teach more people the proper way to handle them. My 6yr old is probably better at handling a firearm than 50% of the hunters that decided to start hunting to address their mid life crisis.
Offer more safety courses in more communities. Teach kids the right way. And at an early age. A gun has no commonsense. Or conscience.

Sorry back on subject.

Just trying to agree flyer, I would think maybe then if they take & pass a hunter safety class then that is all it would take to fix what I always thought to be unfixable.
By the way a great stand you built for your dad. Guess everyplace doesn't have the turkey population that we have around here, a few years ago my old dog got one that didn't have enough room to take off. Somewhere I have a pic of around 50 or so right outside my living room window, & I don't get as many here as some other close by.

BTW a hunters safety course comes too late in life. But is a good program. Children need to be taught early so the curiosity is diminished and the respect is formed. Also parents with guns need to be responsible for teaching. I remember walking down my street with my .22 on my back when I was 11 or 12 to my friends houses where we went down to the river and cliffs for target practice. Picture 4 or 5 12yr old's walking down the street with rifles today.

Again objects cant think on their own.

Took my new 22 rifle to school for a show & tell session when in 5th grade, got on school bus with it, rode to school, got off bus, walked into school to class. Bus driver did ask if it was loaded before he would let me on bus, i said no, opend breech showed him, he said ok get on bus. Once in classroom, teacher said she will keep rifle up on her desk till it was my turn at that class of show & tell. No parents called, no police, nothing. it was acceptable back then.
