Nopster is up and running as of about 5:45 this afternoon. Good looking installation. Furnace was cleaned out and he had installed new heavy gauge black stove pipe and had about a ton and 1/2 of rice coal on hand plus two starter bags. For the purists he even put sheet metal screws in every flue pipe joint. Once I verified everything was connected properly and venting correctly we put in a starter bag and fired it off. He has a smoke detector and a CO detector.

He is putting a new supply plenum on top of the furnace and will tie it into the house ventilation system later.

For now Nopster is burning black rocks and has joined the ranks of the coal burning addicts.

As for me, I am not a coal burning addict. I can stop any time I want. I just don't want to right now. :D

And that right there folks is the reason to list your general location in your profile. If you list it, you may find someone who lives close by who can help you out.

I love a happy ending. Like Rick said, you should always post your location. You never know, help might be right around the corner...and you might make a new friend in the process.

Many thanks to Larry for offering a hand.
