Looking for someone to help with Alaska coal stoker.

PostBy: Nopster On: Thu Oct 10, 2013 8:32 pm

I have an Alaska coal stoker hat is in the house my wife and I just bought and I have never burned coal. I have tried to reached someone to come show me how and make sure everything is connected correctly and haven't made out well. The reason I would like some one to come help me and look at it is because other person I bought the house from definetely didn't have everything running properly. I have cleaned the entire inside of the stove as well as the exhaust flue. Can anyone please help?

Suggest you go to the stoker section and look for this posting, Alaska Kodiak Stoker I Stove documentation, The 140 document is there, you can read it and see how your system matches up.

It would also help if you posted your location and as always photo's always help..

Why do you think it wasn't hooked up properly? Where do you live?

welcome to the forum, If your nearby im sure any one of us would take a look at the install... In lieu of that, you could also take some photo's of the set up too (and we could then give some sound advise about it)... take pics of the stove (exterior and interior), pics of the flu/chimney (exterior/interior), pics looking up into the damper area of fireplace and/or looking at the thimble (pipe connection through wall), pics of top of chimney/flu from outside. with proper photo's these guys can go a very long way with help to know and learn ALL you will need.

Okay I see exactly what your talking about, is that equipment mounted up there or just sitting up there, T

The one piece is the rehostat (thing with the dial) it controls your distribution blower fan speed Hi low, the other thing (with the attached temperature probe) is your in duct temperature senor, it controls the the distribution blower fan, IE on/off at the preset temperature set points.

Yup, they should be mounted some where other than on top of the hopper,

Thank you for the pictures, yes they speak a thousand words.

I will add more tomorrow.Must digest and add pictures of where mine are so you can get an under standing..

I also have a 140
