Coffee 10-12-13

Hey Guys, just had time to sit down and get somthin to eat. Busy day. Its been raining last 6 days, so not much getting done outside.
I got a shipment of LVL beams delivered Thursday. Because of the rain, I decided to put them in my workshop until the rain stopped. I got enough LVLs for my Workshop's "Lean-to" and our Carport we will put up next spring (hopefully). It was cheaper to order them all at once.
Next to order, a pallet of OSB Sheathing. My neighbor needs a pallet too, so we will go in together and save on shipping.

We still haven't started up the coal stoves, but I'll admit my wife started her Pellet insert last week when the night temps dipped down.

I am still cutting trees to get to the old barn on my property. This barn was built in 1920, but she has got a good backbone, and the tin doesn't leak, so it can be resurrected. The field that surrounded it was not tended since the 1950's. Now it is now a Pine forest. You can see a corner of it in the attached pic.

Million Vet March! I got a couple buddies heading up there tomorrow. With the Feds threatening to close 495 for the Trucker's event, it should make for an interesting Day.

Fired up the stove (on wood) today after buying some school bus heater hose ... for the coils - sick of that stupid U I soldered together in '08 leaking every damn fall! So far the hose hasn't burst and scalded me ... but the season's still young yet!

After smoking out the basement for a couple hours, the heat finally started to make it's way upstairs. For the first time in a month, it's 70° in here! :dancing:

And LOOK WHO'S BACK!!! HEY LITTLE BUDDY!! Thought he was dead ... but turns out he was just hibernating all summer! He's a backward froggie!

Good morning all. Up tending the stove and then off to work. Can't wait, one more week till I start vacation. Will finally be able to get caught up on a bunch of projects. Thinking about taking the kids to Steamtown. Wife and I haven't been to PA since before we got married. Maybe pick up some bit coal for the fireplaces too. We'll see. Everyone have a good rest of the weekend and happy Columbus day. Good coffee too. Take care, Matt

Super on the frog Smitty! Funny how we look for those little things that make our day. Best pet i could imagine....you don't have to feed him or pick up his poop, 8-) Not sure, but he might eat worms. Give it a try. Maybe you can teach him to monitor the boiler.

:funny: This has taken a road I never knew existed!

I just call him FROG. Works for me. My kinda pet too - just like the cats, only even less work. ;)

Just took the Blazer for a get together a few towns over. Had her up to 90+ on a local straightaway - no more fuel starvation issues. 8-)

Today I loaded my tractor with the forks and bucket on the trailer to head to my parents to remove an ash tree we dropped in the spring. It is cut up in log lengths. I also was able to sneak in an hr on the jetski. Unbelievable how warm the water is for the middle of Oct. I think this is the latest I have been out.

Fun day overall.

Wow yeah, you wouldn't catch me goin in any water around here this late in the year! Below 70° don't mix well with me. As a rule, I generally don't swim north of the Mason-Dixon. ;)
