Im only a year out of burning with wood. I usually spend every six hours messing with the wood stove. So I realize that I can have hobbies again as im not baby sitting this stove. I am not used to all this extra time. I want to mess with this stove so bad because its fun but there really isnt anything to do. My wife says I am addicted to them and that's why I am getting another stove so I will have something to do. My friend said I could do both stoves at the same time and then not have to mess with them again for the day...I said no way I will do them at different times so I have something to do. Buyer beware...if you like to figit with stoves...coal is not for you. I literally feel like the Maytag repair man. :)

Wives are usually pretty good at finding something for you to do so be careful of what you wish for.

this is SO funny and exactly WHY I decided on coal LONG ago, and seemingly in a galaxy far far away.

"I" have plenty of other stuff to do AND a honey do list the size of war and peace.

of course one of my primary things to do is just sitting near the stove bakin' like an old apple. LOL

Go outside and laugh at your wood burning neighbors as they toil with their arm loads of wood. I do and I love every minute of it.

I went tool shopping at rural king and Sears. I got the top of the tool box I was meaning to get because now I have time to work on cars.

Yeah, I still have wood left over from years and years ago, but the missus still likes an occasional fire in the fireplace, so we need to keep her happy. ;)

I like early morning games of smoke stack watching and this is how the game is played. My neighbor likes to dig into his still fresh and wet pile of spindly pine trees and relight the fire from the night before. Huge piles of smoke come out of his chimney (and yes I have warned him about fires but he is pretty arrogant) and then he gives up and goes to work. I have two games, one is taking photos of his "environmentally friendly" smoke plume. The other I am working on is climbing onto his roof with a blanket and trying to send a message to Freetown Fred. I wonder if he will respond? I gotta upload a pic or two.

My neighbor lady (77yrs young) has an outdoor wood boiler, she calls the other day and says " hey Anthony I just got all my wood delivered for the year, All 4 triaxles ready to be cut" I actually thought about installing one of these things once upon a time. So back to topic, Enjoy the 15 hours because some sucker (ME  ) is cuttin his elder neighbor ladies wood pile, and not enjoyin his full 15 hr burns. God I enjoy burnin coal.

I've been running her around 350 for the last couple of weeks. Sometimes 400, well we are getting lows in the high 20's and lake effect snow forecast for the next 2-3 days. I will have to get that stove crankin to 450-500 as the second stove hasn't been finished yet.
