On one hand you defend the old way of ever rising medical costs because of the medical lobby's & the other you praise the one's willing to step out of the norm.
That very well be a picture of samhill hitting that bong.
I don't think I have ever defended the old way, but if I was a doctor, and a good one at that, one that saves lives and plays god on a regular basis, I would want to be able to charge as much as I felt my services were worth. I have never heard a dying man complain about medical costs and tell the doc to just let him die.
The doctor in that article states he makes $200,000 a year. Not too shabby for a family doc. A cash system works. For some families, $10 a kid and $30 an adult would be far less then what they are paying in insurance costs. And a lot of these doctors still make house calls. Imagine that.
If I didn't have morals and I could look myself in the mirror, I would talk the wife into pumping out a few more kids, quit my job, and let the government take care of us. They would pay my mortgage, give us food, free medical care, maybe even get me a sweet car to drive! Damn my father and his persistent work ethic.
Oh wait, what do I do when they run out of money and the system collapses???
