Isayre , I'm not a coal critic since this is only my second year, but what I can tell you is my feed /air settings are text book perfect ,no smoke / sulfur smell from the auger and nice blue flames, unlike last years coal from a local farmer who won't tell me were it came from and cost me $320 a ton. My only concern with Lehigh are the oversized pieces. I assume a few have made it thru the auger since I haven't had to replace a shear pin, but I look for and remove them.

Way too many. I haven't saved or counted all the pieces ,guessing 20 at the most from the 2-3 tons I've used.lsayre wrote:What is the percentage of pea sized chunks you are experiencing in the rice?

Just looking for someone closer that I might be able to save on delivery if not /ton costs as well.lsayre wrote:Do I sense a business opportunity in the making here?drum wrote:Does anyone have a good nut anthracite dealer for central Ohio? getting delivered from that distance is pricey and I'd like to try to find someone closer although the price/ton down further south seems to be quite a bit higher than you guys in NE Ohio.

McGiever,
Both are Amish owned. I believe that they only sell bagged. Pine Valley nut and bolt is on St Rt 87 between 528 and 534 (Middlefield/Mespo). I don't know what they are selling this year. Byler's is on 88 just east of 528 (Middlefield/Parkman). Byler's sells Blaschak.

Yep,Welcome Zach, and from Bainbridge too ! I think we've got more Folks burning Coal in the Region than one would give Credit for ! You're also correct with the bagged only Supply at both Amish Dealers. As best as I've seen in the Middlefield to Mespo Slot, only Warner's and Bosler's have the Bulk Option.

Thanx,Paisan, and good to see you ! Thompson Bros. name comes up often here. Seems they've done a lot right. We keep Networking to get the available Sources in Ohio [ut into this and other posts. We've seen a lot of Folks coming in from different parts of our State. We've also had our Border State Friends sharing with us their Sources that are just over the State Line. You can't beat that!

Nothing wrong w/ Thompson Bros. although they don't stock bagged.Paisan wrote:Just got anthracite nut from Thompson bros. on fri. $250 ton.
But for a little further drive to New Wilmington, PA, Bulk coal is $225. and ZERO TAX!
Bagged Blaschak $315. per 2400# skid and ZERO TAX!

McGiever, you keep saying to go to New Wilmington but never give a name to the place. I live about the same distance from New Wimington and New Springfield. Can't find anything under google about suppliers over there. And if I can save a couple of bucks, I am willing to try
