2013 Coal Prices for Ohio
Okay, I'll start: I paid $285/ton for bagged coal from Bosler's in Middlefield on 10-26-2013. 40 lb. bags, 50 bags on a pallet.

$285/ton for bagged is pretty good! Was that before or after the Ohio sales tax? Santa coal (Blaschak), or something else? Picked up, or delivered?Kimberly wrote:Okay, I'll start: I paid $285/ton for bagged coal from Bosler's in Middlefield on 10-26-2013. 40 lb. bags, 50 bags on a pallet.
My cost (in May, when it was on sale) was $242 per ton (including Ohio sales tax and the delivery fee) for 5 tons of delivered bulk Blaschak pea from 'Coalway' in Apple Creek, Ohio.

Just pick up a ton on Fri. at $250 from Thompson bros. I aways ask what type but she never knows. She just says its from PA. She wasn't sure how long that price would stay at 250, so i'm getting another ton this week.Berlin wrote:Thompson bros. mining 3379 E. Garfield Road, New Springfield Ohio 330-549-3979

If anyone is close enough to use Thompson Bros. then you're prolly close enough to New Wilmington, PA
You'll NOT pay any sales tax at PA for your coal.
Bagged prolly has no price advantage there, but bulk prolly does.

We dropped in at Coalway yesterday their current price for bulk Blaschak picked up is $235/ton, and Blaschak in bags is $295/ton. These prices are before sales tax, and of course delivery is extra.

If you can use bit, oxford reclamation (tunnel hill mine) in New Lexington Ohio is still $75 a ton this year. Could not get there so I paid $220 a ton in Obetz Ohio at the hardware store for enough Kentucky lump to get me through the coming cold snap.

are you screening any pea stoker (1/4"x1") or just stoker?
I'm looking for a better source of pea stoker.

Good to see info on Bit. Ohio's famous for it. Good to see you again,Willis. See if you can hook Berlin up with the info he needs. Carl, thanx for dropping in with source and price. I've got to admit,I may be gettin' a little bit of the Bit Bug myself! Carl,I may PM you about that lady you picked your Combustioneer up from. If I read your post right, she had a second one. I'm starting my info build-up and study of it here on the Board. Again, thanx for keeping the Ohio/PA Border pricing and sourcing thread rolling here !
