We got back from the Bahamas Christmas Eve. I installed are new Alaska Kast Console 3 and removed our wood burning stove. Started it up on the first try with a fire starter. My two 3 1/2 and one 2 ton heat pumps with back up 90% LP furnaces have not come on one time. These stoves are great. I do use my fans from the AHU to circulate the air around. Most of the time our stove is on the lowest setting. A few days in the teens we turned it up half way. Looking foward to a cheap electric bill.

Congrats. I love my Alaska stove too. It's nice not having to pay the crazy prices for oil.

We got a electric bill for $235.00. I ran the stove a few weeks only during last months usage. I am looking foward to seeing how much I will save by heating with the stove all month. Nice to pull up to the house and not hear those HP running. Then come into the house and be cold.

Hot Air Coal Stoker Stove: Alaska Kodiak Stokerstove 1

We also love our old Alaska Kodiak stove. Our elec. bills actually go down once the stove gets fired up - and this is in a all elec. home. This is mainly because of the stove's water coil heating all of our hot water and running a small baseboard unit. The elec. water heater gets turned off as soon as the heating season starts.
