I would love to have lived 100 years ago - didn't have the inflation & taxes we have today that accounts for my lack of time and enjoyment of a hand fired! I spend every waking minute working ... just to pay the state.

It's bought and paid for ... and weighs over 500 lbs, so it's gonna stay right where it is.

I planned on keeping it anyway. In this day and age of uncertainty, you cannot be fully committed to just ONE fuel - got to keep all your options open. I've got oil (could burn veggie, or kerosene in a pinch), the automatic coal stoker (suppose I could burn corn or sawdust or even pellets in a pinch), then hand fired coal, or wood, or trash, or ??? in the Mark III - if coal ever becomes unavailable (which could certainly happen - all it would take is $10 a gallon diesel) I won't freeze to death here. ;)

Hey Smitty! Glad to see you finally got the furnace installed Bud! Me, I like the radiating heat of my hand feds on the first floor here but I do get the "oh shite" moment when you realize you ain't going up to bed just yet. You'll have a bit more time for vids now! :D
