still assembled in America (just by Chinese Mexico immigrants now), the components obviously come from Asia.
god forbit Harmon allow dealers to offer incentives or discount pricing (its not done because Harmon rips away the dealer if they are caught doing it....no matter how much that dealer needs to sell inventory)
some dealers get around this by giving free pellets/bags of coal, etc. with a purchase (but if Mr. Determan found out, heads would roll!)
god forbid Harmon allow a dealer in a place they deem "unworthy" (you can drive your ass to weymouth or cape cod for all those spare parts your going to need, so not only will you pay through the nose for the parts but your going spend additional $50 in gas and time getting them).
hey... lets go buy Leisure Line stove Co. and then TRIPLE the prices of parts so we can not only make a killing on selling stoves by charging double the stoves real value but also get triple on parts from previous customers as well as the new ones (because we know China makes quality parts that need replacing every month or two).. OPPS... I forgot that what Hearth N Home Technologies did (I wonder what would happen to the country if all business was purchased with these intentions and goals in mind? (Light bulbs $27.00 each, Coal $1000.00 per ton Oil $10.00 per gallon)
I will leave the customer service experiences for others to discuss, if dealers were not so fearful of this Conglomerate they would have NOTHING.
I still dont understand why Americans keep buying them (dont give me this crap about "they are the best stove", Hitler had the best army but that does not mean we bow to them)
You wont ever see me buying a Harmon or a Vermont Casting because I still believe in America!!!! (clearly others are not taking the same stance, but that does not mean I will cave on mine
Ok... hope that helps start your thread
