I havent bought from them yet but have talked to them on the phone. $365 a pallet which is 2400 lbs. Blaschak nut or rice anthracite. BOSSERT FIREPLACE SHOPPE 608 987-3837, BUS HWY 151 SOUTH, MINERAL POINT, WI. Probably about as good of a deal as you will find in the area. He does deal in stoves too.

Recently I found this Craiglist ad for Kimmel coal sold at Fond du Lac, WI. Can anyone in MI, IA, or northern IL/IN; tell me how these prices compare. http://sheboygan.craigslist.org/mat/4306956198.html

I buy a few bags [stove coal to burn at parties] a year from the FDL guy - nice fellow to buy from

If you compare the FDL cost of bulk bit coal to NG its slightly less per Million BTU
http://nepacrossroads.com/fuel-comparis ... ulator.php
ant-tracks coal is far to over the top
then consider--- you still have to haul it out of FDL to ??? and once home -> deal with solid fuel

In my world that's not enough to justify and you would be better served spending your hard earned cash on conservation vs conversion

your mileage may vary - these are just the voices in my head speaking out
