Just some numbers to boggle the mind......

The Earth's age is estimated at 4.54 billion years old..........
The Universe is between 12-14 billion years old......
There are 170 billion galaxies....
The number of stars is 100 sextillion to 300 sextillion.......
There are app. 100 billion "habitable" planets.......

Mind boggling numbers but it stands to reason (in my mind), that we aren't alone.....

Cosmos first aired in 1980 so it isn't really new. I believe Carl Sagan died in 1996.

Given the vastness of the universe, it's likely out there somewhere. But if it was intelligent life, would that mean that Jesus has to die over and over again almost endlessly on all of the different planets with intelligent life in order to bring the hope of salvation to one and all on each of them?

Why? Aren't you taking your world view pertaining to religion and overlaying it onto another civilization, one that might be completely different than ours? There are many paths to the same destination....

With all due respect, I think that you're projecting your belief system onto others who might not need or want it. Everyone must find and follow their own truth. What is mine isn't necessarily yours and the reverse holds true. What I feel works best is not to accept what is solely based on belief but rather based on direct experience. It's the difference between a concept and a percept.
My apologies for digressing and please know that my intention is not to impune Christianity. I am hoping to present a different perspective of a larger picture.

You apparently did not read my comments in this thread very well. Did you catch my immediate follow-up, as well as my third post in this thread? The first post was purely rhetorical license...

You are right. I didn't read it carefully enough. My apologies extended. From my rereading it sounds like we are in agreement.....

For what it's worth, several years ago I witnessed a UFO while stargazing. At first I thought it was a satellite until it deviated from a linear course and zig zagged through the night sky. No known aircraft or spacecraft could do what it did at it's rate of speed. Other people witnessed it as well.......

With the vastness of the universe it is supremely arrogant of humans to think we are the only life in it. I have no doubt there is other life out there and and would not be shocked to learn we have been visited.

Agreed! There is mounting evidence that more than suggests that we have been. "Ancient Aliens" who often times goes out on a limb, still does present compelling arguments that we have been visited before. There are many examples of ancient technological achievements that even now, we would have a difficult time equaling. with the same precision.
Some even hypothesize that we might have been genetically engineered by aliens. I have no opinion either way on this but it is interesting to ponder.......

Myself, my dad, and a cousin of mine all saw the same thing you are describing about 40 years ago. We thought it was a plane but then it started quite noticeably zig-zag jumping about from one place to another and we were amazed.

Yep, none that I'm aware of and is public information. I seriously doubt that an aircraft flying anywhere between 8,000 to over 17,000 mph (depending on altitude and type or orbit) could execute multiple 90° turns which we witnessed. It was pretty amazing.
It would be pretty funny if they, while looking down at us, said "Hey, hold my beer, watch this!"......
