That sums it up pretty well. I surely don't care as much about what could be as what is.
If they do show up on my doorstep I am staying here.

If they stop here it won't be to grab a cup of joe and hit the head, thats for sure!

I surely don't care as much about what could be as what is.

What "could be", depending on the amplitude and potentiality, might just be tomorrow's "what is".....

Much of what we perceive is illusion which causes us to be delusional.

Maybe what we perceive is real yet it's in direct opposition from our conditioning. We enter this world with perfect vision and because of societies conditioning, we lose it or more accurately stated, it becomes dormant.

Right out of Emerson or Thoreau. Thoreau stated "I wish I knew what I knew when I was born"

Emerson in his essay on "illusions" says much the same thing as you have just said.

Spiritual truth transcends both learning and experience which was the basis of their transcendental belief.

I believe that there is an element of experience in seeking spiritual truth. Otherwise it could become just something of passing theoretical interest or at best, "iffy". Direct experience develops a "knowing" which is far more powerful than just believing......

Steering back on course... So what does all this chat about spirituality have to do with ET's? Nothing directly, but it does shape our world view and understanding of it in an indirect manner........

In the late 1960's any average military pilot would of swore they saw an alien aircraft if they saw the SR-71... Keeping in mind that development of that aircraft began in the early 60's what do you think they might have now?

I think the odds are in favor of it. As I've said previously the potential for some form of life exists in our own solar system. If it happened here on earth it can can happen elsewhere. There is an incomprehensible amount of places life could form.
