The gasket is only supposed to be in the sides of the glass. The small amount of secondary air that enters on the top and the bottom helps to keep the glass clean.

You can go to an autoparts store and buy Duplicolor 1200* paint, or Hardware store and get Barbeque paint. I perfer the 1200* stuff. Don't paint it in the house if you can help it, it stinks up the whole house and can aggravate asthma or allergies.

The glass only has gaskets on each side as stated above.

If you can, paint the stove, and put it in the driveway and start a wood fire in it to burn off the paint stink.

The Home Depot sells flat black stove paint from Rutland for almost $9.00 a can in the area where their stoves are displayed. A few isles over in the paint section is Rustoleum high temp. paint for half of the price of the
Rutland product.

If you are looking for other colors then you'd have to go to a store that specializes in stoves and accessories, maybe some of the Mom and Pop hardware stores would have colors, those stores are becoming harder and harder to find (thanks to HD and Lowes).
