And therein lies my dilemma................ I have NG here at work. This big old uninsulated brick building sucks the heat out of it like crazy. The first winter I used the HYFIRE II to heat it not knowing about how efficient my NG Infared system works on this building. Since the brick eats BTU's I was running the coal at almost full bore 24/7 during the cold periods. And as we know coal takes a while to get cranking so I really could not cut the temps back at night.
After using 800 lbs the first week last year, I turned on the gas. Then added a smartphone enabled programmable thermostat. And with the infared part, it heats up the vehicles rather nicely.
So what to do with the unloved HYFIRE ?????? Sell it ??? HELL NO !!!!!
I took it home and placed it in the home garage for the kitties. It replaces the old Alaska basement model. I have never been happier and so are they. And with the addition of the coal-troll, it is so sweet. I removed the heat jacket and additional blower as it was not needed and I don't think it will be. I think last week I only used about 80 lbs for the week. And I no longer have to guestimate where to set the plate nut for the day's temps like on the Alaska. And yes the HYFIRE is way overkill for the home garage, but it is all paid for.
Knowing how well the HYFIRE works, it is no stretch that anything created on a napkin by these guys would work just as efficient. I'm just pissed that I wasn't there to help saturate the napkin. But I will say I was invited to a party once before at the factory. But that 2 hour drive home is 1 hell of a deterrent.........
I just may have to get a small handfired in the shop here just as a conversation piece.
