S15 pot gasket sizes?

S15 pot gasket sizes?

PostBy: agcowvet On: Sat Nov 09, 2013 7:06 pm

Hi all,

Just checking to make sure I have the right size gasket, before reassembly. 3/8" round? Or something else? (All 3 gaskets will be new--grate to gooseneck, grate to ring, ring to air chamber.)

Thanks
Jacob

I like to use 1/4" rope gasket on the top ring and 3/8" around the bottom of the plates.

I did not use gasket cement when rebuilding my 520 stoker. I am glad that the previous owner did not use it either. I would not see the purpose of using it considering the way the gaskets are held in place.

No cement is used. Only a compression fit.
