Hard to tell exactly what the center is but roughly 100-150 miles cover it, I guess. $200 a ton (bulk) delivered on "special", normally would be about $235 (actually, a sliding scale, the less you buy the more it is per ton). I think coal prices are very high in the State College area, considering the closest breakers are about 85 miles away. I live 1.5 miles from my supplier.

It's about 550 miles for me, $270 to $300 short ton bagged. Not that I have a stove to burn it in - yet. I grew up burning wood, and I burn wood now - that's going to change. I can see coal is definitely the way to go.

I pray that I find a bulk coal dealer in southeastern Michigan.
I can only find stove coal in bags.

I have been looking into an intermodel Open Top container & trailer.I seen the 20' Open Top for sell under $1000.00 used $ the Trailer for the same price. Now both items may be in different states.Shipping to bring the trailer and container togather may run $2,000.00.The 20' container will hold 22 tons.Cost between $4,400.00 & $5,500.00 plus shipping. This would be and investment of $10,000.00 to get the first 22 tons to Michigan.22 tons will heat my home for 4 years.
