Yup,,, some quality questions some like it a few have not I haven't tried. I think there might be better choices in the bulk market but for that price its not bad if it burns good for ya. Bags are on pallets if you want that many.

Its not Harmony Mine coal any longer keep that in mind.

I have been alternating between Glen Burn rice and Keystone Anthracite rice. They are both burning about the same. Glen Burn seems to be a bit ashier. Bulk at Glen Burn (old UAE) site is $170 and $185 at Keystone. I buy by the bucket because I am close enough to both sites ( 15 minutes from Glen Burn and 5 from Keystone) that I don't need to store it. I can buy it as I use it.

The classic UAE coal used to blow everybody away. Now since they are no longer using the underground coal but mostly from strip mines in the area there seems to be no advantage other than their lower price. Since I buy it by the bucket, usually 7 at a time, the difference is only pennies or at the most a buck. Keystone Anthracite is closer so I get it from them.

The bagged coal at Glen Burn is the same that they sell as bulk. They just put it in 40# bags and charge $5.25 a bag which works out to over $200 a ton. Bulk is $170 a ton. Their bag price is about the same as everyone else in this area.

Here's last week's ashes from the boiler:

There is red ash mixed in, could be the remaining older coal in the bin, but it was quite low when I added the new haul.

Dad used Savitski all through the late 80's-early 90's and loved it....you're saying its still available? Same coal, different owner? I'm burning new UAE and had previously burned it before they closed....white ash now and a bit ashier than before but good coal. First load was from Split Vein when I installed my KA6 and it wouldn't heat my house. I bought 4 ton of Blaschak and I'll never do it again. I had to turn my coal feed up 3 turns to get it to burn like new UAE.
