what is this part for? hitzer model 5093

i have the hitzer model 5093. it came with piece of steel in the hopper, it is sized at about 27x4 inches. what is it for? ty for your response.

Hello,
I have a 30-95 and it has a piece that size that slides in just under the ash door, kind of like a lip to catch ash that falls out when you open the door.
