problem with pioneer le

I have a pioneer le with coaltrol that has given no problem til now. I'm having issue maintaining daytime set point. I have had the set point at 73 for several days with a min of 6 and a max of 47.At these settings the actual temperature swings from 70 to 76 instead of the previous plus/minus 1 degree, Any suggestions on how to decrease this swing is appreciated.

Have you taken out the grates and cleaned all the fine holes through which the air blows?

Have you changed the HLF setting in the coal trol? It should be 0 . If you remove the grate make sure to re install with the gasket along the back most times it can be reused. But it must be there. Look on our forum under tips and tricks. Dave

I haven't pulled the grate yet,as I'm waiting for a warmer day to shut down the stove, but will double check the gasket. I do have the HLF set on 3 as I have an old farmhouse with moderate insulation. I will reset to 0 and see what happens. Thanks to all , and have a great and safe Thanksgiving!

3 is a pretty wild setting. It is rare that you would go more than 1 in a home.
