Happy Thanksgiving Ohio and all! 15 degrees outside here right now and 70 degrees inside, thanks to coal and a very nice boiler to distribute the warmth evenly. Much nicer than waking up to a 62 degree house like we did back when we heating with electricity. My (known) jobs for this Thanksgiving morning will be to make the stuffing, clear the snow off the driveway, and take the ash tub out and dump it. Then it's off to a day of blissful laziness, or whatever tasks the wife comes up with for me, whichever comes first.

From Penciltuky, spuds peeled in de-pot, sweet tateers peeled, sliced and ready for goopy brown sugar coating, dirty bird is stuffed and juicing away, stuffing is cheat as usual stove top besides whats in bird. I want the birds, put some apples in it this year. Gf is waiting for me to pick her up from half day, work, then we clean a bit, set table, and wait for family and friends. Anything else I hope they bring. Might even try a beer this year.. been quite a few years since I tasted one.

Happy Thanksgiving all,
After a couple of days of chilly wind, rain and the occasional "conversational" snow we woke up to a bright, crisp, clear day with temps in the low thirties and a wind chill to the mid teens. For those who are unfamiliar with 'conversational' snow, that's the snow that doesn't stick but draws everyone to the window to talk about; it's pretty much all we get around here.
We have been taking turns in the kitchen and will sit down in a bit to enjoy the beef stew DK made, the requisite pumpkin and cherry pies and watch the Army/Navy game. This picture of Riley pretty much sums up our plans for the day. Have a great day, don't forget to count your blessings, Lisa
Edit - Boy was I disappointed - the Army/Navy game is on the 14th. Bummer! I found myself with nothing to do so I took a nap .
