Hi guys...im new to the forums here.
I recently aquired an "oak" type stove, and im in the process of restoring it. I would like to install a fire pot liner, but im having trouble finding information on how to actually do it.
The refractory cement that I currently have can be "cast" or "hand cast" into place. Just add varying amounts water for the consistency you want.
Just wondering if anyone can give me some instruction on how to do this. Pictures are always helpful.
Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
"Oak" Type Stove Fire Pot Liner
Welcome to the forum! I do not have your type of stove but I did a quick search on castable refractory and refractory liners and found the following in another thread regarding lining the fire pots. This user had small cracks in his firepot.
"If you do a search on this forum [search box in upper right corner of page] for 'Refractory' or 'castable refractory' you will find info about lining the firepot with the high-temp refractory cement. The refractory cement will protect the firepot from additional heat damage.. and maybe the cracks will stabilize and not grow."
Happy reading and good luck with your stove.
