I empty my ash pan on my Keystoker 90 everyday so I do not forget when I did it last. If you are worried about amount of ash just ask more questions.

Weigh it going in and you will know how much you are burning.

In informal testing last year related to the use of Newport coal, I came up with 15-20+ % as an expected percent that the weight of ash and unburned coal forms of the weight of coal fed to the stoker. If you take the weight of ash and unburned coal in the ash pan and multiply it by 5 or 6 you should be in the ballpark of the weight of coal input. This assumes a burn with a proper ash ring.
