Thanks Larry :) Our prior camera was a Canon sx260hs. Very good for the money point and shoot camera. Unfortunately, the back lighting on the display quit. Before that, the automatic lens door quit working. It's about 18 months old, never dropped or abused. I want to send it back to Canon and see if they'll do anything for us. Maybe they will replace it, maybe I'm wishful thinking

We've always bought Canon in the past. This time we thought we would roll the dice on a different manufacturer and have always heard Nikon makes good quality products.

I've had many Nikons over the years from Pro film cameras to ProSumer DSLR's always a quality camera. You won't be disappointed! That particular camera got great reviews and you can't beat the price! We all will be expecting more photo posts! :D
