Use google to search for "coal stove" or "Coal boiler"

Also, Craigslist often has them.

Place a call to Matthaus???? :D :P :rimshot:

I see you're new here, so welcome aboard! Lots of great information and people here!

Matthaus is our resident "rescuer" of wayward stoves and boilers, like a Humane Society for coal burners of any type. He seems to have a nose for a used, derelict stove a hundred miles away.

My Keystoker was once a basket case project purchased from Matt. Now it's all fixed up and has a good, loving home!

Chris

Welcome Bill, those places and what av8r suggested are good. I usually go to the craig's list home page for each state and do a search for coal in each region when I get a chance. NY, NJ, PA, and MD usually bring the best results. It just depends on how much time you have. The other source is to talk with all the heating and plumbing companies around you and find out if they are removing any coal boilers. Lots of elderly folks have them removed, although with the price of oil that will be much less now. ;) I have a watch order on my local scrap yard for any coal burning appliances just to make sure none slip through.

Are you looking for a stoker or a hand fed? As Chris said I am the used coal burning appliance junkie (pun intended  ). Depending on what you are looking for I might be able to refer you to a good used unit or have one for you. :)

I'm looking for a stoker with an auger feed if possible because I have a low ceiling in my basement 6ft to joists and a foot lower because of pipes for boiler. I live in HATFIELD Pa.

That would make the unit less than 30 years old. That would be a steal price.

It's only been 8 years since the last post in this thread. It may be *possible* he is still looking?

It's okay, I'm just using humor to welcome you to NEPA! 8-)
