I wasn't trying to state one way or the other. Your post just raised the hairs on my back. I apologize if my post was taken out of context. Glad you are on the right track. You should check the draft at the outlet between the boiler and Baro. You will want a -.04 there that is adjusted with the baro. I am not sure what the differential should be if any when measuring in the hole over the door. Usually you want to see a slight difference to the lower numerical number ( I don't want to say positive ) like maybe -.03. That adjustment is made by adjusting the shutter on the combustion fan when the unit is running. Open it more that # drops.
But refer to what your mfg recommends.

this thread should help you. Keystoker Ka-6 operation guide.

I'm running 10 turns burning buck for winter temps, summer time round 14-15 turns. My air flap doesn't change manometer readings at all, so it's set at one inch open.

Thanks for the info....its helpful. The reason I have it set where pictured is because that's how the manual says to....any advantage to checking it the other way?

Phew! At least your hemoglobin isn't saturated with carbon monoxide! Thought it might be a meter problem. Most excellent! :D

So what did you do with the barometric damper? is it still screwed shut? The door on it needs to be able to open, that's how it limits draft.. :)

If you read above I unscrewed it. I tried this before....maybe my flue wasn't hot enough?? Not sure but I got the correct outcome this time! I hope it helps with my minor coal issue...I have some blachak left from spring amd I have recent white ash from UAE and my ash content is astronomical compared to the red ash....I know it won't burn the same but I'm filling every 3 days (roughly) at about 300#. I take ashes out every two...sometimes more.

I'm emptying 3/4 to full ash pan every 12 -14 hours. Hopper may make 3 days but I fill it everyday to limited dust. Like to hear other Ka6 owners have for ash.

I got my first load I burnes in this thing at Split Vein (Antracite Coal Company) in Shamokin......no heat and I'd dump ash twice a day.....and I was only heating 2800 sq ft....I now have all 4200 with domestic hot water for the house and attached apartment and I do it every other day with UAE coal from Mt. Carmel. I guess compared to you I can't complain. Coal quality is everything and I learned that quickly. Blaschak has good heat but is pretty ashy. The new UAE white ash is good heat but a bit ashy. The old red ash feom UAE was the best I've had.

Hello all new to this forum and k6 as of this November.
Previously had Harman hand fed. Best coal that I used was red UAE harmony.
Now running buckwheat from Reading any how my question is about the manometer.
Where could I buy or rent one?
I am heating total sq ft of 3000 72 degrees with domestic water at approximately 140
Aquastat 180 h 155l
195 dump zone
10 turns feed and rest factory set.
8"tee 4ft 8"pipe 8" 45degree then 8" to 7" at thimble
Averaging 5 days on hopper.
so far very happy! should have bought years ago.
so I am thinking draft is good but want to check.

Your usuage seems about right. Makes sense to buy a manometer. All coal burners should have one. Draft changes with different weather conditions so setting it and forgetting it is usually not realistic for best burn.
