I have this olde cement mixer here made probably in 60's or 50's and the one bushing and the shaft have seen better days.
The shaft is 3/4 diameter and 8 inches long.
The bushing is 3/4 bore and 1 1/2 diameter. 3/4 inches wide.

My Dad stopped there and the only thing they had that size was brass bushings, he didn't ask about bearings though.

That's a great site but the 1 1/2 diameter appears to be an issue.Rob R. wrote:McMaster Carr.

They had some "spacers" on McMaster Carr that were the right size, the bore is .755 instead of 3/4 but putting the shaft in the old bushing it appears that may be what it was originally.
It will have to do, anything is better than what it is now becsue the other bushing and the shaft is toast.... but it's like 50 years old too.

What make mixer do you have?
If you happen to have a Cleform/Gilson look here:

I have an old Gilson mixer that I rebuilt with a new shaft a couple of years ago and parts are still available. It was definitely worth rebuilding.
Best of luck.

It's from the J.B. Foote Foundry . I found a real old angelfire site that said they had parts and the contact email came back returned. I called the company which is still in business but they don't have the parts or make them anymore, they gave me two numbers. First one was disconnected and the second one had no answer. There is a gear on it wore out a little that I wanted to get but I'm just going to flip it around and wear out the side.
I think this will work, I hope so becsue it's $35+shipping for the two spacers and the shaft. Just hope the spacers are tight enough when I insert them into the housing.
Certainly be worth it, really nothing wrong with it other than the shaft and the bushing. It still has the original motor. The shaft that is wore out is for the drive, the shaft on the drum is in good shape. This mixer is bit of family heirloom. It made a lot of concrete for a lot family member's. I have pictures of me near it when I was a kid back in the early 70's

Any bearing distributor should have a good selection.

I looked through a few catalogs and just can't find them this specific size, bushings or bearings.coaledsweat wrote:Any bearing distributor should have a good selection
I got them delivered today, that was quick. The shaft and bore size for the shaft are right, the outside diameter is is off by fraction of inch and when I say fraction I mean like 1/64. Arggggghhh.
That won't matter as long as I can keep it from spinning in the housing. I'll either shim it or or drill a hole for a set screw. I'll have to use some silicon to seal it up because there is grease fitting inside.
My only concern is how well these "spacers" are going to hold up but it's not like I'm using this every day either.
