Thank you! Your statement intrigued me so I looked at your profile to see where you live. You were serious about looking from a distance! That made me very happy!just peter wrote:great job.

I hope you post a 1 hour video of it in operation, so those of us who don't own one, can transfer it from our computers to our big screen TVs and "pretend" we have one.
Beautiful piece of history. Something to be proud of. Great job.

My brother asked me to make a short video of my stove the other day. I had just bought the camera that day and really had no idea what I was doing. It's here on youtube if you feel much like looking at it. All that racket is from me handling the camera so you might as well turn the sound down as it's kind of annoying. https://youtu.be/cODAb3ba-sU Is the link. You'll probably have to copy and paste it into your browser, but your stove should look something like this once you get it broke-in and figure out how to operate the old girl. It will take some getting used to, they aren't like a wood stove. Once you figure out how to get your draft set, you'll be really happy with it. My coal guy got coal that's a little bigger than what he had last year and the smaller sized coal did work better in my stove, but I'm getting this larger stuff figured out and it's burning just fine. I think I sent you a copy of what Sears put out for an owners manual on those things and there are some helpful suggestions in that on breaking it in et. It's sure a nice looking stove and you'll be really happy with how it heats once you get used to it.

I have used that manual A LOT! In fact I made two more copies of it so I could keep the original one clean in my office and one copy out in the shop. The other copy I made was sent to another Wehrle owner in British Columbia so he could get some help from it too.
I don't know how to make your video play on my phone so I will have to wait to watch it when I get home from this business trip I'm on right now. Thanks for giving me the link! Jerry.

Your exhaustive attention to every tiny detail has produced a magnificent result. This is why these cost $5,000 at the stove dealers and I'm quite sure those stoves didn't get nearly the attention your did.
Now all that is left is to see how it performs.

I was able to watch the video tonight. Thanks for posting that. I enjoyed it! I wouldn't have a clue how to write a book. I barely can make these little posts, but it was nice of you guys to say those things... it made me feel good! Jerry

Not yet, I've been away from home for a few days, but I hope to do it within a few days. I have a chimney at the shop that is attached to a wood stove right now, but I think I can move that stove away and put the baseburner in its place for a while, at least long enough to light it. I will definitely take some pictures and a video so I can share it. Hopefully it will work properly and the video will show a success instead of a failure! With your obvious high attention to detail, perhaps if you are willing; you could provide information about how the stove performs. We have specs for other designs of base burners but never a mica base burner. Performance info is eaten like pizza here on the Forum.
There are several people here such as Isayre who could be very helpful in this area if they are watching this thread.

Really? Sure, I'll do that, but it's probably going to be quite some time, as I need to make a special place for it in my home first, and I have to save up some more money to do that. I also need to find a reasonably economical place to get my coal. I only have a small bucket of it right now. I teased my wife that not many guys really would like coal for Christmas. When it's time I'll need to know what kind of specs you'd like and how to get them.wsherrick wrote:With your obvious high attention to detail, perhaps if you are willing; you could provide information about how the stove performs.
