I usually watch that movie Christmas Day. Christmas Eve it's A Wonderful Life and A Christmas Carol 1932 or 1935. Those two are the only ones that are good. All the other Christmas Carol movies suck.

If you like "A Christmas Story" you should read some other books by Jean Shepard. He weaves the tale of the average American in the late 40s and early 50s. He is a master of the short story and had a radio show based out of Chicago for many years. Those shows are now available on CD. His presentation of American life is classic. Seriously, if you want a good book to read beside the stove, grab one of his. They are in the library. Lisa

Classic...Happy Holidays to all. Never realized what a clinker was when watching this movie back in the day. Now I can appreciate the meaning!

Man that goes back. I also listened to Shep with a transistor radio (remember them) under my pillow. I don't think he broadcasted out of Chicago but NYC. He was on WOR. His best shows were the live gigs on Saturday from the Lime Light club in Greenwich village. He would tell his army stories and really played off the live audience.
