Crane I Think a Model 202

Please correct me if I am wrong but I think a 202. I found this for sale about an hour a way and have some questions about it.
EDIT: THE TELL TAIL THIS IS A 404 AND NOT A 202 IS THE CAST IRON DOORS (202 HAS FLAT NON-DECORATIVE STEEL DOORS)

From what I found on the web it seeks like it might be a 202 though found another picture and claims it to be a 404.or is the 404 just a bigger 44? I will get the measurements from the owner if I can. I also found some references to being baffled or double baffled but in the picture you can clearly see the exit of the flue pipe through the glass so more like a steel box with a coal fire in the bottom to me.

Any help appreciated.

Its a 404 for sure... (its just an older one prior to decorative kits) but does have a replacement shaker handle . I can also clearly see through that glass and clearly see the crane stamp on the forward part of the cast iron liner pot (if this is the photo of the actual stove for sale... its worth it for that liner alone)... this stove has not been used to any large degree if at all!

scoop it if its near you (make your offer with cash in front of him), hook it up, try it.... if you don't like it... I will take it from you for its grate system and liner and spare ceramic for the price you paid if its $200 or less! don't worry about the baffle or wooden handle (i got those coming out my ears).

the 404 is rated at 60k BTU, 44 is rated at 40k BTU (the 404 has better banking ability for extended burns). both stoves can be beat to snot for years with little consequence.

benefit of that removable baffle is I clean my flu pipe while my stove is running on low (mild day), I don't have to disconnect pipe, reach behind stove, get on back to deal with "T" or anything else

Trace that phone number and get the address and start driving! you can always call enroute, I still have my eyes open for a 404 or dc said he will drive to northern Maine and kick my butt-uminus

She looks real clean and cared for meaning a dry environment etc. There was one in southern Maine another member was eye balling, lets go guys the season is here!

I finally bought the Crane 404 though not nearly as pristine as the picture, but it is Craigslist so what to expect. They could not explain the missing shaker handle and got a bit uncomfortable about it. I suspect someone else's picture of a nicer one. I have to pick it up this week as over an hour away and wanted to get a bill of sale parts easily removed and know what to bring to load it. I paid 150 for it and it needs a pane of glass and a shaker handle. The fire pot is free and looks good. The grates were covered in ashes but are free and do not seem damaged in any way.

What do I need to replace all the gaskets in the stove?
Adhesive for gaskets, what type?
Damaged and missing hinge pins?
Can glass be cut easily locally at a stove shop?
Stoker handle?
Stove door handles ( the wood part)?

I wil take some pictures when I get it here next week and no doubt have a bunch more questions.

if that firepot comes out nice you got one heck of a good deal (i got 8 people who buy that firepot alone for $150 including me!)
door handles I have, shaker handle I have, baffle I have.
if the door hinge pins are broke (depending on the brake if the weld let go OR the pin sheered off, their are a few options... need pics!)
glass is 3/16 ceramic and can be found at a "few" glass places in stock (yes they can cut it to size, edges are wrapped in sticky flat gasket so we don't care about sharp edges or anything like that... no grinding or buffing.... just ask them to cut a piece and hand it to you for a cheap as possible.... expect to pay a min of $25.00 for one piece!)
for the door gasket I use high temp black RTV adhesive (you really don't even have to, but I do and the stove did originally and most the guys here do as well... some use the copper since its temp rating is higher but the fact is... after it sets up and does its job the gasket will remain in place no matter what you use)... I suggest you search here for some great threads regarding installing glass gasket, glass brackets, door gasket, etc. .... some good tricks of the trade save a lot of hassle and id have to write a book here to cover it all!!!

i cant wait to see this $150 baby!!! any cast trim kits? any blower? hurry hurry!

Yes I did buy it. Business has had me tied up to finish the restoration of it. I started another thread on starting to restore it in this forum.
