My DW and I were on our 2nd bottle of wine after a great dinner last night, and I needed to tend the Kodiak. I stepped up on the hearth, and made a slight miscalculation and viola-I lost my balance and caught myself by grabbing onto the 325 degree side of the stove.

OUCH!

It branded me in the shape of the corner area. I must have pulled off it quick enough though, after spending 15 minutes under cold running water it didn't blister. Had to finish the wine so I could sleep.

So let me coin a phrase, "Wine and Coal do not mix..."

Yeah,....coal stoves and beer seem to go better together,......wine is best left for a roaring fire in the fireplace. :D

What's a DW???

DW=Darling Wife. The one who reminds me of the 'dirty coal stove' while standing in front of it to get toasty.

All kidding aside, she's great at tending the Kodiak also. When I had some surgery, she maintained it flawlessy without complaint for over a month.

How sweet! Yeah, my DW gives me a lot of dirty looks when she asks where I'm going and I tell her I'm heading to "engineering" to check on things. She likes the cheap heat, however!

Now I remember why I quit drinking all those years ago. ;)

Well, things like that and a bad case of the Irish flu. :P
