But the NOAA will massage the raw data and report something completely different. Global warming demands that the data be massaged. No wonder the north pole ice cap grew as much as it did in only one year.

Wow! Per the NOAA: '"Year-to-date global temperature ties for fourth highest on record"

With heat like that, just how do they explain that the entire polar ice cap is back big time with a vengeance?

It rained all night the day I left, the weather it was dry
The sun so hot I froze to death, Susanna, don't you cry.

As long as you only look at the month of November for the past 20 years, the polar ice cap has indeed been shrinking. Isn't that what they call cherry picking the data?

What happened to the polar ice cap during the Medieval warming period, or even earlier than that, during the time when for many decades the Romans managed an entire industry of quite substantial wine vineyards in Scotland, or when Greenland was colonized by the Vikings, who saw it as such a lush and green land that they clearly named it quite appropriately for the times?

One wonders if the same sort of people who are managing the Common Core curriculum that is brainwashing our children are the ones also writing (or is it re-writing?) the history books about ancient global climate conditions?

The prevailing scientific wisdom is in agreement that the earths temperature is rising. The argument is the cause. Whatever the cause, worldwide measurements continue to confirm overall temperature rise. Artic sea ice coverage has irrefutably been trending lower during the age of satellites. Sea levels have risin in modern times. Natural cycle or man made? I don't have the answer to that.

The main thing that causes warming and or cooling of the Earth is that big yellow ball in the sky.
The agenda driven, global warming crowd has been caught time and time again omitting relevant data, fudging data and outright fraud. Human caused global warming is a scam, plain and simple.
All, and I mean ALL of their models have been proven wrong, all of their predictions have proven wrong.
The Climate goes through cycles of varying length and intensity. For most of Mankind's History the Earth has been very warm. Much warmer than it is most of the time.
The past 40 years has been part of an almost Century long warming cycle, due to a large part to a very active Solar Cycle; now that is over. We are now entering into a Solar Minimum for the next couple of Centuries. The Climate will cool off to where it was during the 17th and 18th Centuries. Then it will warm up again, probably. It won't matter to us living at present. We won't even live long enough to see the cooling period fully arrive.
All of these little cycles act in between the large cycles of major ice ages. As far as that goes it is time again for one of those to start.

All I know is there used to be a mile of ice on top of where I'm currently sitting and I haven't seen that in quite some time.

Yup. A mere 12,000 years ago, Central Park in New York City was covered by a 5,280 foot deep glacier. 12,000 years is a blink of an eye in geologic time.

Human contribution to global warming is, of course, a theory. It cannot currently be proven or disproven. One fact has been proven, however. The amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has increased dramatically since the industrial revolution. Coincidence,.....perhaps. The climate IS changing. It always has and it always will. If the current trend continues, drastic planetary changes WILL occur, in very short order, in a geologic time frame. Short order is not how the earth usually behaves,.......with anything.

“Due to the de Vries cycle, the global temperature will drop until 2100 to a value corresponding to the ‘little ice age’ of 1870,” write German scientists Horst-Joachim Luedecke and Carl-Otto Weiss of the European Institute for Climate and Energy.

http://dailycaller.com/2013/12/05/repor ... l-cooling/

“There is a very good correlation of sunspots and climate,” Ollier wrote. “Solar cycles provide a basis for prediction. Solar Cycle 24 has started and we can expect serious cooling. Many think that political decisions about climate are based on scientific predictions but what politicians get are projections based on computer models.”
