Ya, great..... Freetown Fred stopped doing his snow dance & it turned to ice! Freezing rain as I type.... 3/4" by tomorrow night I guess. Arghhhhhhhh

I had half a mind to snow blow all the snow back into the driveway.....maybe the ice wouldn't stick, but, there's already 1/4" of clear ice.

Share! Share! Cripes.... they say well below zero tomorrow night.

Ohh, we shouldn't lose power just with an inch of ice. Since the ice storm of '99 the power company has made a huge effort to keep trees pruned wayyyyy back. So far it's working.

Yeah they did the same here. After the that '08 ice storm, the power situation got WORSE out here! Got to the point where every single time a drop of rain fell, we'd lose power. And that's no exaggeration!

After Hurricane Sandy left us powerless for 6 days or so, a few of the neighbors had had enough, and berated the power company on a daily basis until they finally unleashed an all-out assault on encroaching trees. Haven't lost power for more than a couple hours since.

Yeah, my NSA spys in Maine are reporting a real mess. 3/4 of an inch is catastrophic according to the NWS. But, it broke 60 here today. :)

Still rain here Freddy but I talked to some guys that were up your way today and they said it was icing up in the afternoon. I got my saws sharpened, gassed up and in the truck. This could be the recipe for a sour tasting cake. My daughter thinks I'm over reacting but she was to young to realize what really went on during the last ice storm we had.

Bzzzz, crackle......All is OK here..... 1/4" of ice so far. I live across the street from the sub station that feeds all of New England do if I go dark, Smitty's going with me! LOL Actually...I do...but, my power does not come directly from the sub station. I lost power for 6 days during the ice storm of '99....but only once for more than an hour or so since. We'll be fine.... I've got a PTO generator & two different diesels that'll drive it.

Well... over night we got an unexpected surprise. One inch of sleet! And it's still coming down. On the steps it's two inches as it's rolling off the roof like little ball bearings. Maybe if it changes to freezing rain the sleet will keep it from sticking so much. I wouldn't mind a 1/2" of ice if it was on top of the sleet. 26 degrees right now.

Same thing here Freddy, but it looks like we got about 2" of sleet. It is really "peppering" the windows right now. They keep saying it is going to warm up, but I am showing 23F on the porch.
