HyFire 2 - Convection fan

HyFire 2 - Convection fan

PostBy: Kim On: Sun Dec 22, 2013 8:47 am

I have my HyFire in the cellar. I hooked up a heat jacket to it and have it hooked into the cold air return of my forced hot air furnace. I use the fan from the furnace to distribute the heat. The heat from the stove keeps the cellar warm. Therefore, I have turned my convection fans off. Is that OK? That doesn't harm anything, does it?

Thanks,
Kkm

Hi Kim
Welcome.
Yes, I believe if you are using external fan for the convection, you don't need the built in fans.
However, how are you controlling the Furnace Fan to move the air around your ductwork? Is it tied into the system so when the coal stove plenum gets hot enough, it kicks on?

Yes, I have a thermostat mounted on where my heated jacket connects to the ductwork. Then I use my regular furnace fan and ductwork to distribute the heat. Thanks for the reply.
