im a little disappointed in the performance of the chubby... it takes forever to get it going...i think its a draft problem...wood goes like hell great draft but coal,reading nut, very slow..i have tried every thing , except raise the height of the chimney, that will have to wait till spring...anybody have an idea for a temp. height raise i cud try
the flue liner is just 8 to 12 inches above the peak (see pics) this page...any help / advice would be welcome...

THAT is a killer cabin.

As far as the draft goes....nut takes forever to get going (from scratch) in my stove as well but once the fire is established it operates fine. Is coal size an option for a chubby?.

If that chimney is dead cold it could take awhile to heat up all that masonry. Perhaps plan on burning more wood for a few hours before adding coal.
