LOOK OUT!!!
THE 100 FOOT PEX SNAKE GOT LOOSE!!!
The PEX is now relaxing in my garage. I have installed the shuttoffs and unions on the boiler end. I have decided to just U clamp the PEX to the garage ceiling. Then through a 4" piece of PVC through the wall into the breezeway then into the basement. Tomorrow I will connect the zone, I have a loopback at the end. The I will bleed out the air and pump boiler water through it. That should make it a little more complient.
A WORD ABOUT SAFTEY:
Remember, when using a knife, always cut AWAY form your hand. DON'T do what StokerDon did, or you might have to spend a few hours in the emergency room getting sewed up too! Yup, that blade went pretty much all the way in there. Don't ask how, It was just stupid.

Ouch! I knew a guy who was unpacking boxes and opening them with a box cutter. He sliced through his femoral artery. He could have bled to death in a minute. Fortunately he was a doctor and knew how to stop the bleeding until the ambulance arrived. Always cut away from your body!

Yes, I did get a Tetinus shot to go with the stiches. Yesterday on the way home form work I bought a PEX cutting tool.
The other night when I got home form the ER at about 10:00, the hand felt fine so, I finished what I was doing and got the pipe routing started.
Anestesia is a wonderful thing.

Today I ran the PEX through the garage.
Through the Breezeway.
Through the laundry.
And into the basement.

I also got the heatexchanger mounted in the plenum.
Good thing I will have this heatexchanger up and running tomorrow, my basement coal bin is about empty!
If this works out, I will only have one mouth to feed!
Only minor cuts today, no major injuries to report.

Today I went out and got 1.4 ton of rice coal. To my suprize, it was crowded! I had to wait in the street for a while! I've never seen a crowd at a coal suplier before.
Anyway, I also went and got more plumbing supplies. I plumbed the PEX to the heatexchanger with shuttoffs and temp gauges. On the return side I installed a "T" with a ball valve to bleed the air out when filling that long run of PEX. I also installed a Temp/Pressure gauge in the return. This way I should have a very good idea of what is happening in that zone, weather I'm in the garage or in the basement.
I wired the blower in the Alaska 140 to a relay controled by the house thermostat. I still need to do the same with the zone pump, it is currently running all the time.
Well thats it! A little more wiring and more supports for the PEX along the ceiling and it will be done, for now.
My house, garage and breezeway are now being heated by one central boiler! The Alaska 140 is shutdown now. the ugly old Alaska in the garage has been shutdown for 2 weeks now.
I only have ONE hopper to fill!!!!!!!!!!!
Agian, thank you all for your help on this project, I never would have made it without you.
