it would be Asia if i was 29 years old... Bangkok would be the place to start (party, fun, night life) yet so near other worldly rainforest type places where elephants are the vehicles of choice. you get it ALL in Thailand :punk: (Doug sets up the joke ;) )

Not quite, Jamaicans still like us Our money, hell Sandals Resorts give Military discounts and treat them with extra care ( Did you know Shaggy is a US Marine?) My home away from home.
Just a little correction.
So does the rest of the world, your point? They are a service oriented Economy, like what our country is turning into., good thing we have nice tourist areas too..we're gonna need them more than we think.

Notice that China is now the worlds largest Trade Nation overtaking US?

China can out bid us on just about anything but quality is a real problem. I was involved in two projects with my company where I was being pressured to switch to China from U.S. manufacturers. One was a metal 40 x 48 pallet that we have welded from wire. China was going to die cast the entire pallet and ship them to us for less money delivered! But we used so many that there would be a constant stream of containers on the sea coming to us and I posed the question 'What happens if we find a major flaw making the pallets worthless? What about all the containers coming to us? How soon can we correct the problem and be RECEIVING new pallets? How long will we be out of production?' Someone up in Corporate actually had enough sense to see the ramifications. I don't know how WalMart does it unless they have people stationed in China, Pakistan, and Indonesia inspecting every shipment.

Well they are still undecided. It's being negotiated. They are still so young that my son doesn't realize yet that they will end up going where his better half wants to go.
For sure it won't be Bermuda, Jamaica or the like. These are tickets to ANYWHERE! They are going to go somewhere that would normally be way out of reach of their budget. Hell Bermuda is just off the coast of the Carolinas and trips to Jamaica are pretty affordable.
Yes all the world likes our money. But despite pledges to the contrary from our dear leader, our reputation in the world is now at an all time low. Nothing like capping off the world apology tour with indescriminate drone strikes and listening in on everyones electronic communications to make friends. :)

Wow!
Very nice gift. If they love the land and beauty in every direction Ireland should be on their list. Loved it, so much to see, from castles to mountains to farms to fishing ports to ocean vistas to pubs. They have it all.
And this is a biggie, they will be safe there.
Portugal is nice. And New Zealand too.

I'd hit Australia - no other place interests me that's not part of the USA. Could spend a month there and not see it all. Best of all, the seasons are opposite of ours, so you go in winter and enjoy summer down there. I'd take a dual-sport motorcycle and go cross-continent across the outback. That would be SWEEEET!

My choice at this point....
Australia....
The cost is high enough to make it worthwhile for free airfare
No language translation issues
Weather opposite of ours
They like tourists
Many nice golf courses to sample 8-) !!

European Destinations: (my criteria on going back is based on how we were generally treated by the people there and stuff to do that interested me.)
Been to Ireland and it would be my first choice to definitely go back to - no travel plans just go where you want and find a B&B to stay the night, plenty to choose from
Been to France and would never go back
Been to Germany and would never go back (except to visit Bavaria / castle area while staying in another country)
Been to Switzerland / Austria and would definitely go back

For the fishermen....
I have heard on a couple fishing shows there are more recreational fishermen per capita in New Zealand than any other country. There must be some good fishing there to account for all that interest!

Amsterdam is on my bucket list although I understand they have very much cracked down on the tourists having access to the local "bars." :smoke:
