Anywhere in the world!

Anywhere in the world!

PostBy: coalkirk On: Sat Dec 28, 2013 9:41 am

My youngest son (29)and his girlfriend got an amazing gift fot Christmas from her uncle. Two plane tickets to anywhere in the world! I don't know if he is crazy rich or maybe had a bunch of frequest flyer miles. They are now locked in a debate (argument) as to where to go. I voted for Bora Bora or Fiji. Lucky ducks!

If I could fly anywhere for free it would be Auckland, New Zealand.

Bora Bora is boring unless you want to do a lot of snoring. :D

They are 29 years old, they need someplace exciting and fun. What about Paris or Tokyo, Athens or Rome, even Cairo or Jerusalem if they like living on the edge.

If they both don't have passports, they aren't going anywhere outside the USA for quite a while.

I'd go to South Africa. Safari, wine country, scuba diving with great white sharks, surfing and, from the few I've met, wonderful people.

Lucky ducks? I wouldn't be so sure about that....is the uncle a sly crafty shiftless ol' codger? They'd better look close....those might be one way tickets! <jk'ing!>

Gosh.... I'd keep it simple... Hawaii!

Well they haven't agreed to anyplace yet but they both have a list. The only place that appears on both of thier lists is Portugal. Not a place I would have thought of but interesting.

I've had my chances to travel from Tokyo to Slovakia and everywhere in between. I absolutely love Paris. I worked in the eastern part of France in the country where the people we friendly and the food had a Germanic flavor to it. I spent a lot of time along the Rhine river visiting castles too. My favorite vacation was on a narrowboat (canal boat) in England. So darn relaxing cruising along at 3 knots and stopping at every pub along the way. Everyone was super friendly.
Northern England is very nice with castles and very friendly people. Germany is also great with great food and, of course, beer AND fun loving people.
I had a chance to visit long lost relatives in Slovakia a few years ago. The country is absolutely breath taking from farm land to snow covered mountains to caves to a multitude of castles and wooden churches. Great and cheap food and pastries. I'd go back in a minute given the opportunity.
Lived in Hawaii but still enjoy going back. Lived in Guam (another story) and visited Palau (great snorkeling) and Yap. Those would be interesting now that they have been built up and modernized. When I was there, there were still Jap planes along the runway!
Austria is also a beautiful country.
It really depends what they are interested in. Scenic beauty, history, or architecture.

Places I haven't been but would love to see are New Zealand, as some else said, and Australia. Pretty much everything else has been over run and ruined by Muslims, including Spain and London.

Those are two places I wouldn't go to even if the rest of the planet was engulfed in fire and overrun by US politicians and lawyers.

What's wrong with Bermuda or Australia?

I'm not huge on traveling, especially in this day in age being American; we're hated by everyone.
