It's been like a trip down Memory Lane! We used to see Real Winters like this when I was a Kid,and I'm 53 now. The Lake Effect today has me Confused as I thought that Lake Erie was mostly Frozen Over! That's been a long while since that's happened! :o

I'm 58, and I have the same memories of much worse winters here in decades long past.

The projection for the end of the month keeps getting worse here. Now we are looking at the month of January finishing out here at a mean temp of only 17.4 degrees, and with 1,476 HDD's. I'll likely burn a bit over 600 lbs. more coal this January than the average of the past two January's. That's nearly 20 more lbs. per day for the month.

You are all bumming me out, I just went 9 days with my back out, could not walk at all, then 7 days where I could walk a little. Three days ago I broke a tow, back to not walking much.

My stove is cold, the furnace is on, I'm not a happy camper. I do hope by tomorrow I can get a fire going.. just venting.. :x

That would be cool, have it dump 60 pounds down the chimney, I'll figure out a way to start it from the top...

It's so windy here right now that my barometric damper is wide open pretty much full time and the manometer is hitting 0.08" on a rather regular basis. It's times like this when I need a second barometric damper.
